Piedmont Fanfare
Piedmont, CA
Some homes whisper. This one celebrates.
We have created several homes with this client, and with each one they have grown braver. This time, at a turning point in their life, they were ready to bloom, so we let the house bloom too: edgy, daring, colourful and wonderfully alive.
Drawing on my love of African heritage and craftsmanship, we brought in pieces with soul: juju feather hats, carved masks, a porcupine-quill mirror and a grid of framed mask prints above a soft white sofa. Saffron and black set the rhythm, from mustard velvet to sculptural black dining chairs beneath a brass sputnik chandelier. And for a little whimsy, a pink chair and a flamingo in the bedroom.
Nothing here plays it safe. A home with a heartbeat, and a client glowing right along with it.
