Inner Richmond Fog & Brass
San Francisco, CA
This Inner Richmond Edwardian already had its graces: crown mouldings, generous bay windows and original tile at the door. Its family, sophisticated, down to earth and rich in cultures, deserved a home to match.
So we let the house grow. Where there had been a single bathroom, now there are two, and a new family room gives everyone a place to gather. We kept the palette hushed, the soft grey of a San Francisco morning, and let brushed brass bring the glow. Black fluted wood adds depth, while linen, bouclé and rattan stay soft to the touch. Even the kids' rooms joined in, with navy, plaid and a burst of rust.
Serene without being precious, and elegant enough for every day.
