Glen Park Velvet & Ember
San Francisco, CA
Throughout this project, our client kept coming back to two words: sexy and cozy. We took them to heart.
Velvet brought the allure, in olive on the bed and at the windows. For the bedroom, we commissioned a hand-painted mural, inspired by a wallpaper, drawn from the owners' own silhouettes and washed in the colours of the home. Then we lit the fire: rust and terracotta rugs, warm burl wood and pillows the colour of embers. The dining room is pure softness, with a plush rug, a porcupine-quill mirror, a tasselled chandelier and plants spilling from every corner.
And everywhere, collected pieces: carved figures, kuba cloth and art gathered over time, each one a conversation and a memory. That is what makes a house a home.
Sensuous, a little mysterious, and completely their own.
